Position Summary

The Youth Minister serves as the primary leader of the church's ministry to students in grades 6–12. This minister

will proclaim the Gospel, disciple students to become faithful followers of Jesus Christ, equip them to live according

to Scripture, and partner with parents as the primary disciplers of their children. The Youth Minister serves under

the leadership of the Senior Pastor and Elders, supports the mission and vision of the church, and affirms the

Baptist Faith and Message 2000. Baptist Faith and Message 2000 - The Baptist Faith and Message

Primary Responsibilities

Spiritual Leadership & Teaching

• Provide Christ-centered, biblically faithful teaching during weekly gatherings, Bible studies, and small groups.

• Develop annual teaching plans consistent with the church's doctrine and vision.

• Lead students in worship, prayer, evangelism, and spiritual disciplines.

Discipleship & Care

• Build intentional relationships with students and encourage spiritual maturity.

• Provide biblical counsel and care while partnering with parents.

• Identify and mentor student leaders for missions and ministry.

Family Ministry

• Communicate regularly with parents regarding ministry vision, events, and discipleship resources.

• Equip parents to disciple their children at home.

• Be available to support families through prayer and biblical counsel.

Programming & Outreach

• Lead weekly student gatherings, small groups, camps, retreats, mission trips, outreach events, and service

opportunities.

• Encourage student participation in evangelism, church visitation, and missions.

• Ensure all ministry environments are safe, welcoming, and Gospel-centered.

• Coordinate and take part in student Community ministry events to include FCA, 5th

, See You at the Pole, Etc.

Volunteer Leadership

• Recruit, screen, train, and schedule volunteers.

• Provide ongoing leadership development and accountability.

• Promote a culture of servant leadership and discipleship.

Administration

• Manage ministry calendar, budget, communication, and long-range planning.

• Collaborate with church leadership and participate in leadership meetings and church-wide initiatives.

Qualifications

• Growing personal relationship with Jesus Christ and a clear testimony of salvation.

• Agreement with the Baptist Faith and Message 2000 and the church's statement of faith.• Evidence of a call to vocational ministry.

• Experience leading student ministry and developing volunteers is preferred.

• Consistent growth in strong communication, leadership, organizational, and relational skills.

Background Check & Child Protection Requirements

• Must successfully complete a comprehensive criminal background check before employment.

• Must successfully complete all church-required child protection and abuse prevention training before serving

with minors.

• Must comply with all church child safety policies, including the two-adult rule, reporting procedures, classroom

supervision standards, and check-in/check-out procedures.

• Must immediately report any suspected abuse or neglect in accordance with church policy and applicable state

law.

• Must maintain a lifestyle and conduct that upholds biblical standards and protects the physical, emotional, and

spiritual well-being of every child and student.

Work Expectations

• Part-time position requiring regular Sunday and Wednesday services to include camps etc.

• Faithful participation in the worship and ministry life of the church.

• Commitment to personal spiritual growth, continuing education, and leadership development.

• Maintain confidentiality, integrity, and biblical wisdom in all ministry responsibilities.

• Perform additional ministry responsibilities as assigned by the Senior Pastor.

• Average of 20 hours per week are expected.

• The Youth Minister’s Salary starts at $15,600 per year and includes two weeks of paid vacation per year.

(Additional time off will need to be communicated and agreed upon with Senior Pastor and Leadership)
